The Home Guard was established in 1940, soon after the outbreak of WWII and in direct response to the potential threat at home, posed by an aggressive Japan, when so many of our men were away fighting in the European theatre.
This rare treasure dates from 1942. It features hand drawn cartoons by M. Matthews portraying in exaggerated form, some of the "fleeting impressions and incidents which occur in Home Guard activities".
Thin Card cover, 155mm x 235mm landscape, 20pp, pencil & ink cartoon illustrations,
G+, some foxing, scrapes and edge damage, a small paint spot and stain to back cover, but tidy and solid overall for its vintage.

Standard shipping:
Orders are processed within one working day of the order being placed. Once processed, our standard delivery times are between 3-5 working days (within the Auckland region). Rural deliveries may take an additional 1–2 days.
Standard shipping rates start from $7.50. For bulky/heavy/fragile items, or international delivery, additional shipping costs may apply. If you're unsure, email placeholder for a quote. Otherwise, an estimate will be emailed to you when your order is processed.
