A signed and inscribed soft cover collection of poems by one of New Zealand's most distinguished poets. The poems in the opening section are drawn together by a common thread of travelling, of making journeys, but running through them, and many other poems in this book, is an awareness of the fragility of relationships, and of the impermanence of human existence. Yet, as always, there are poems of great warmth and good humour, especially the poems written for grandchildren. And throughout there is a wry acceptance of death and endings – 'silence awaits us all'.
