First edition novel by iconic NZ author, about the growth and adventures of a small town boy who meets a girl.
Published by The Caxton Press in 1945, it is a study of youth and self-discovery, later incorporated into his complete novel I Saw in My Dream (1949). The book marks a shift in Sargeson's style, moving from his trademark realism toward a more symbolic and fragmented narrative.
Tidy but stained dust jacket, card boards, 92 pp.
Pre loved, G+, scarce find.
